"Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.”
Kenneth Grahame

"The desire to build a house is the tired wish of a man content thenceforward with a single anchorage. The desire to build a boat is the desire of youth, unwilling yet to accept the idea of a final resting place."
Arthur Ransome

"There is little man has made that approaches anything in nature, but a sailing ship does.
There is not much man has made that calls all the best in him, but a sailing ship does."
Allan Villiers

"I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky.
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by."
-  John Masefield

Alyria

In 1996 we launched Alyria, the culmination of a process which became a journey of adventure and a journey of spirit. We intentionally built her without an engine, because we wanted to experience the simplicity of a time not long ago, when life was more connected to the rythyms of the tides and the shedule of nature. After many thousands of ocean miles, Alyria is ready for a new adventure with a new steward. If you'd like more information, please write to us from the contact page.
